As time runs out - first with the Iunctio, then the Ljósálfar - Lucinda must do what she has to do, to survive, before her heartache breaks her in two.

But memories plague her, her mind starts to play cruel tricks and slowly reality begins to crumble, taking a once strong and confident Nosferatin down as quickly as a predator catches its prey. And now, there are just so many predators, Lucinda may not stand a chance at all at avoiding being their prey.

About the Author
Nicola Claire lives in beautiful Taupo, New Zealand with her husband and two young boys. Loved the end!

This book takes places a few months after the last book ended. Lucinda is not in a good place. She's hurting a whole lot. And she's also running. But when she gets found bad things start to happen. Not only is she trying to stay away from Avery, but also the Fae but then something bad happens and she gets taken. She must do everything in her power to get out before it is too late.

This book was okay. It got slightly boring at times. But I totally loved the end! I was so happy that happened. I kind of hated the stuff that happened between Lucinda and the Fae. That really sucked. But I think she did okay considering everything that had happened. I'm not very anxious to read the next book!

Fey Princess? Michel dead? New suitor? Power struggles!

Once again trust becomes a major issue with the supernatural of Auckland and beyond. Michel is in a funk after being betrayed by his kin, Erica. He withdraws from Luce and his entire line. It takes quite a bit to bring him more into the light.

Meanwhile a master vampire and a fey prince are both after Luce and this is getting old for Michel. No matter how much Luce tries to convince him, he is insecure that she might not be "his."

New characters are introduced, a trip to London later and Luce adds two new members to her own vampire line (stealing two from a very old Russian vampire). Michel finds out that his maker is still alive and in cahoots with the fey trying to re-enter this dimension. At the final battle with Amicus, it appears Michel is killed, the fey prince has severed the bond so Luce is left alive. So much pressure for Luce to bond again.

OMG! What next? A good read.

Entertaining as always

Nicola easily captured my attention in this book. Even though I accidentally read some spoilers I was still able to get lost in the story. The challenges Lucinda has to face increase to an unbearable level in this book. That seems almost impossible since she already has a ton of crap on her plate from the previous 5 books. I'm sure I had my lip poked out on several occasions while reading.

My only complaint is the detailed surveillance of what each vampire is wearing. I skip those parts because they are too long and unnecessary. The descriptions are usually right before the plot thickens, so it does provide some foreshadowing. Or a waste of valuable reading time. This depends on the reader and how much time they have.

Go ahead and buy all 8. I wish I did that since I obviously must finish the whole series then search for all Nicola books and start on those as well. Happy Reading:)

Cute book for toddlers and younger.

Cute, short, and our 18 mo daughter likes it. As the reader, I was a little disappointed that this isn't near the quality of Llama Llama Red Pajama (which I love to read to my daughter), but regardless it's a cute simple rhyme. It is definitely too simple for kids much older than mine - no story line.

THIS IS A BOOK FOR PEOPLE AT ALL LEVELS - LAYMAN, COMPOSER, OR ADVANCED MUSIC LOVER. "Why should one have to learn or need guidance on how to listen to what one is hearing?" is the question that William Schuman asks in his Preface. "The answer is simple. Listening to music is a skill that is acquired through experience and learning. Knowledge enhances enjoyment."
What makes What to Listen for in Music so invaluable is that it is the ONLY book on musical appreciation written by a GREAT COMPOSER. "This is a composer's book," Aaron Copland states. "Given the chance, every composer would like to know two very important things about anyone who takes himself seriously as a music lover...1. Are you hearing everything that is going on? [and] 2. Are you really being sensitive to it?"
The only shortcoming of this book is that it should be taken as part of a class to make sure that one gets everything out of it. It would be great if it came with a CD of all the examples to which Copland makes reference. However, each chapter does end with a list of "recommended listening." To make specific points, Copland does include sheet music (but I didn't read this book sitting next to my piano). However, these problems are minimal, considering we live in an age of the cheap CDs and music downloads.
Copland covers EVERY aspect of music, starting with "how we listen," - on the sensuous plane, the expressive plane, and the sheerly musical plane. He then goes on to explain to us the Four Elements of Music - Melody, Rhythm, Harmony, and Tone Color. We find out about all the musical instruments, their history and classifications. We find out about all the genres in music - Sectional Form, Variation Form, Fugal Form, Sonata Form, Free Form. Did you know that Sonata Form includes symphonies as well? And that symphonies grew out of operatic overtures?
This is a book that bears re-reading. A lot of technical jargon gets bandied about and, although Copland does his best to explain it all, it still gets a tad confusing. I advise reading this book, listening to a LOT of music, and then reading it again. I know my own knowledge and appreciation of music has grown from reading it. Now I DO have an idea of the nuances I should be listening for in a Mozart piano concerto.

A good introduction to classical music

Given the complexity of classical music, it is not surprising that many people find it confusing and intimidating. With all those terms like "sonata-allegro form" and "contrapuntal texture", it's easy to feel intimidated when trying to make sense of an hour long symphony. Fortunately, Aaron Copland does a good job explaining the basics of how music is structured.

This book covers music, specifically classical music, from several different angles. These include the sensual, expressive, and musical aspects, but also the way elements like rhythm, harmony, and melody interact to form music. Copland also covers musical texture from simple unaccompanied melodies to the complexities of counterpoint.

Copland also gives a basic overview of the history of classical music and how it evolved from unaccompanied religious chants to organum to counterpoint and accompanied melodies. He also mentions how composers do their work and his perspectives and experiences with composition.

On the negative side, the book is very dated, to say the least, refering to 30s era records and "the rhythm-based music of savage tribesmen". However, that shouldn't stop

Elizabeth LaShaun and Kr Bankston has truly out did themselves with this fantastic story. This book was definitely a pager turner. In this story we are introduced to three best friends by the name of Kierre, LaTavia, and India. Each of these women bring a different spice to the story. All three women carries there own deep secret that will change each of there lives. So sit back and get ready for the drama that this story brings because you are surly in for one heck of a treat. Kr Bankston and Elizabeth LaShaun did wonderful job with this book and telling the story. This book was definitely a pager turner. this story we are introduced to three so called best friends by the name of Kierre,India.and LaTavia.. All these Ladies bring a different element to the story. All three women have many secrets they want to be left that way. Each secret that will change each of there lives.
