Hard to Navigate

This Kindle edition is splendid to look at and the text is sound, but, even with hyperlinks, finding your way from the Table of Contents to the selection you actually want to read has been made unnecessarily, preposterously inconvenient. Thus, to get to "The Faerie Queene," Spenser's greatest and most-read work, you not only have to wade through many works of far less value and interest; you have to inch along through every single minor division of those many works--for instance, every single sonnet of the "Amoretti" gets its own line in the Table of Contents, and when you finally get to "The Faerie Queene," every single canto of every book gets its own line. It is not a simple matter of going to a one-page list of Spenser's works, clicking on "The Faerie Queene" to get a list of the poem's books, then clicking on Book III to get a list of the book's cantos, then clicking on canto xii; on the contrary, you have to go through page after page after page after page of the Table of Contents even to get to "The Faerie Queene," then go through page after page after page after page of canto listings until you come to Book III canto xii. There are no submenus. I think most readers would prefer the "Delphi Complete Works of Edmund Spenser," which is cheaper, incomparably easier to get around in, and as a bonus includes Spenser's prose treatise on Ireland (ideologically appalling though that is). As for the claim in Amazon's listing that this edition is annotated, the only annotations I find are E.K.'s original 1579 glosses to "The Shepheardes Calendar."

Finally, his complete works

I bought this after buying another edition by the same publisher, and like the other one, this one is worth paying for. The publisher has assembled all of the poems, which you can't even find all together in free editions, and all the line breaks etc are there. (I don't know how Spenser wrote so much just using a quill or whatever, but there you go.)

Great poet, but can be a struggle to read

Spenser is pre-Shakespeare, if memory serves. He's wonderful, but the language takes some getting used to. He wrote a LOT. I mean really, A LOT. If you buy this you'll be reading it awhile. It's worth it for the ending to The Fairy Queen.

Great update on the Ageless Wisdom Teachings

I purchased this about 2 years ago and I still continue to recommend this to like-minded friends. This work can be considered as a modern rehash of the entire ageless wisdom paradigm (including cosmogenesis and anthropogenesis) written in a contemporary conversational tone. The book presents the ageless wisdom teachings in capsule form unlike its old predecessors that used profuse citations of old texts of mythology and scripture that made them hard to read and understand. The author's style is similar to Henry Guy's "Saving the World: The Spiritualization of Matter" that simplified difficult esoteric concepts for easy reading.

In addition, the author also included fresh and important insights that tend to update the wisdom teachings for the 21st century students and seekers. These updates include glimpses to the New Plan for humanity in the coming age (like earth changes and upheavals), which were supposedly "downloaded" from the Spiritual Hierarchy of the planet. Also intriguing is the author's new version of the "The Great Invocation" called "The Aquarian Invocation" that invokes a new energetic design for humanity and the planet. A must read for serious students of esotericism. Worthy of deep thought, intuitive investigation, and an open mind.

A wonderful book about the upcoming age that the Earth & Humanity is coming into. A recommended read for those that ask, "Why is this happening" "What I can I expect in the future" and "Is the world ending".

The book also includes many spiritual truths to help upgrade your well-being.

Enjoying it

I agree that this book was hastily written and edited, so it contains some repetitious information, but I am so happy to see the references to prior works so that the author doesn't get bogged down in repeating what has already been written about more extensively elsewhere. My constructive criticism would be to combine the information in this book with that in The Third Eye, written by the same author, to form a thicker, more comprehensive overview of the spiritual growth taking place in this Aquarian Age, set in the vast context of planetary/solar system history. References to the author's personal achievements are unnecessarily distracting and their absence, in my opinion, would strengthen the declarative, didactic aspects of the materials presented. Ultimately, I am blown away by this book, its relevance for today, and the hope and sense of peace it brings to us during tumultuous times of climate & geologic change. I loved the author's analogy of the earth's axis getting the equivalent of a "chiropractic adjustment" that will result in the polar shift with new north/south magnetic poles. The references to prior iterations of human consciousness and physical development were very helpful and of course made me contemplate more deeply the recent film "Avatar" and mythologies about trolls. I especially found the discussion of the inextricable link between human evolution and that of all the other kingdoms: Animals, Plants, Minerals, the planet as a whole...to be so exciting and eye opening, bringing about a better understanding and acceptance, for me, of current social change, rapid technological advances, and especially my teenagers' attitudes and behaviors! To view human enterprise of creating ever-new technologies, for example, as a symbiotic or even dialectical co-evolution between the Mineral Kingdom and Humanity is fascinating. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to be a serious student of the esoteric sciences, or for that matter any curious person who wants something more than a simplistic answer to the timely question of what the heck is going on.
