Been on a small portion of his journey

Knowing Mike Ringler for six years and being one of the staff he met in the office every morning, I decided to read his book. Needless to say, I enjoyed every word. Being a teacher, since 1974, I have had amazing parallels with Mike. We had similar situations in high School, experiences with the draft and of course great people from the teaching field and wonderful students. We have the same feelings about high stakes testing but I could not possibly put into words the ups and downs about being in one place for 29 years. I don't believe you have to have known Mike or his school to enjoy this book. You just have to have a love for people especially talented ones and students. Students, the brightest and the most challenging, from A to Z are why we decided to enter the field. Mike puts a great perspective on the life and times of a caring individual. One who from the way it reads has made an impact on so many. I hope to be able to say the same when I look back on my journey.
